Diligent analysis and strategic planning are an integral part of our legal services. The practice of immigration law involves more than just obtaining a visa as quickly as possible. We carefully evaluate each case for its unique circumstances to determine the best course of action to achieve our clients' long-term immigration goals.
Li Immigration Law opened on July 1, 2012. It is comprised of the immigration practice from Mikkelborg Broz Wells & Fryer PLLC.
Li Immigration Law assists individuals and businesses in obtaining employment-based non-immigrant work visas under a number of visa categories such as those for an L-1A/L-1B intra-company transferee, H-1B professional worker, H-1B1 professional from Chile or Singapore, E-3 professional from Australia, and TN (NAFTA) Canadian or Mexican professional, among others.
Our firm also assists individuals through the employment-based permanent resident (adjustment of status) process. We prepare PERM (labor certification) applications and immigrant visa petitions for professionals, outstanding researchers, persons of extraordinary ability, and multi-national managers/executives.
We work with individuals in a diverse range of fields including engineering, computer science, information technology, architecture, geology, horticulture, and the culinary arts.
Our practice in family-based immigration law includes the preparation of petitions by U.S. relatives, criminal or misrepresentation waiver applications, fiancée petitions, applications to remove conditional status, and naturalization applications.
Vickie Li, Attorney/Principal
Vickie Li began her legal career in 1996 as an Assistant District Counsel for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in San Francisco, California. In 2000, she joined Mikkelborg Broz Wells & Fryer PLLC as an immigration attorney specializing in employment-based and family-based immigration law, and became a partner in 2008. In 2012, Vickie opened Li Immigration Law PLLC.
Vickie graduated from U.C. Berkeley and received her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Vickie is actively involved in the community as a tutor with the Youth Tutoring Program in Seattle, an educational enrichment program for at-risk students living in public housing communities in Seattle, and as a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound mentoring program.

Laurie Bernbaum, Senior Associate
Laurie Bernbaum has practiced employment-based and family-based U.S. immigration law since 1997. She joined Mikkelborg Broz Wells & Fryer PLLC in 2005. Laurie graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara and received her law degree from Seattle University. Laurie is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
